Our approach

Luxurious, and still practical

Bathrooms that feel luxurious and still work hard every day, with a considered process from the first idea to the final detail, and a finished room that stays timeless rather than chasing a trend.

We've completed more than 200 projects over more than a decade, and the lesson from every one of them is the same: the finish you see depends on the work you don't. Set-out, falls to the waste, waterproofing, and the junctions where tile meets glass meets stone are where a premium bathroom is won or lost.

So we take the time to understand how you live, help you choose materials that will still look right in ten years, and plan the build properly before anything comes out of the room.

How it works

Inspire. Create. Transform.

Every bathroom we take on runs through the same three stages, so you always know where your project is and what comes next.

  1. Inspire

We start by understanding your style, your needs and how you picture the finished room.

  2. Create

Thoughtful design, premium materials and expert craftsmanship come together into a plan for your bathroom.

  3. Transform

We bring the vision to life, with refined finishes and close attention to every detail.

FAQ

Before you renovate

How does a bathroom renovation with Main Street Renovators start?

Call us or send an enquiry with a few details and, if you can, a photo or two of the room. We'll talk it through with you, then arrange a time to come and see the space in person. From there we work through the design, the materials and a plan for the build before anything is pulled out.

What affects the cost of a bathroom renovation?

The biggest factors are the size of the room, whether the layout changes (moving a toilet, shower or vanity means moving plumbing), how much of the room is tiled and with what, the fixtures and tapware you choose, any custom joinery or stone, and what is found behind the old tiles once demolition starts. That is why we quote after seeing the room rather than over the phone.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

It depends on the size of the room, whether the layout changes, and lead times on items such as custom vanities, stone tops and shower screens. Waterproofing and tiling also need set curing times that cannot be rushed. You'll have a schedule before work starts, and our aim on every job is the same: on time, on budget and a seamless result.

Do I need a permit to renovate a bathroom in Victoria?

A bathroom renovation that doesn't change the structure of the house often doesn't need a building permit, but moving or removing walls can. Plumbing work must be done by a licensed plumber, who issues a compliance certificate for it, and larger domestic building jobs in Victoria must be carried out by a registered builder with domestic building insurance. We'll explain what applies to your job at the consultation.
